The original crankbrothers pedal was born out of frustration. Founders Carl and Frank were fed up with getting stuck in mud-clogged pedals that made clipping in and out unnecessarily difficult. They found existing pedal systems overly complex and asked a simple question: what is the most effective way to connect a shoe to a crank?

Their solution was a minimalist design featuring just two moving parts and a spring, which became the foundation for the iconic eggbeater pedal. This concept was later developed into the candy pedal, which added a small platform for greater stability.

The Candy 11 is a high-performance clipless pedal equipped with a compact platform that enhances stability across a range of disciplines, from all-mountain and trail riding to cyclo-cross.
