Vel’s UCI approved 35 GRL Carbon Gravel Disc Rear Wheel is a light and reliable wheel for gravel use. The tubeless-ready carbon rim has an internal width of 24.6mm and is able to be used with tyres up to 29x2.25” / 700cx57, offering support for the widest of gravel and monster cross-style rubber. Tubeless tape comes fitted and there are valves supplied in the box, allowing the wheels to be converted to use without inner tubes as easily as possible. At 35mm deep the wheels won’t be troubled by blustery conditions and the smart carbon finish pairs well with any paint job.

Hub wise, the wheels have been built around Vel’s RE Rapid Engagement hubs that have sealed bearings and Center Lock fittings for the rotors. The rear hub has 102 teeth and six pawls for very quick engagement, meaning near-instant accelerations and good efficiency as well as increasing the freehub’s longevity. Straight pull Pillar Wing spokes finish off the build, adding further reliability and ease of servicing, and mechanics will welcome the inclusion of spares if maintenance becomes necessary.
